Pastor Maurice Witt has served as a Seventh-day Adventist minister of the gospel since 1973. He and his wife Nancy celebrated their 38th Wedding Anniversary this past May.
Maurice was born in a small hospital near Fletcher, North Carolina, but was primarily raised in Pennsylvania. At age 19 he came south to attend a college near Chattanooga, Tennessee, called Southern Adventist University, where he began preparation for the ministry. There he met this southern girl from Huntsville, Alabama that said she was “fix’n to go to town” and he fell in love and married her. He tells us he has been in the south ever since, and rejoices he has never had to shoveled another scoop of snow, however, it took him a little while to learn to say “ya’ll” and to eat grits. Maurice and Nancy have three children, all married and gainfully employed, and one of the children have present Maurice and Nancy with three grandsons.
Pastor Witt has served churches in Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia. For the last two years he has served as the senior pastor for the Wimbish Road Seventh-day Adventist congregation in Macon Georgia.
Pastor Witts hobbies are sharing God's word, trimming shrubbery, tennis, ping pong and collecting tools.
